Since 2022, The Log Guys our family-operated business has been supplying a range of premium hardwood logs in and around the Essex county.

Our hardwood logs, which have been stored in a barn for at least 12 months, are made up of ash, silver birch, oak, sycamore, poplar, cherry, apple, pear, alder, maple, wallnut, hornbeam, beech, and hawthorn. Our range of softwood logs include larch, cedar, pine, redwood, willow,  and have a moisture level of less than 20%, making them ready to use.

Generally, hardwoods have a higher density and burn for longer, resulting in a greater heat output. On the other hand, softwoods have a lower density and burn quickly, providing a rapid burst of heat. They are also easier to ignite and therefore work well for quickly starting fires or providing additional bursts of heat. Additionally, softwoods have a faster growth rate when compared to hardwoods.
